one of the major purposes of this blog is to serve as a conduit for artsy stuff that i find awesome. please know that i am in no way trying to infringe on legitimate copyrights; on the contrary, it is my hope that people will support the artists either by purchasing their work (in the case of musicians and authors whose work i feature), or by patronizing their local art museums/cultural institutions. (clearly, i’m not suggesting that folks should run out and buy a photo by cindy sherman… but if you have that kind of money and want to get one for me too, i won’t complain.) think of it as free advertising. if you have a real problem with my posting a file, and are not a random internet crank, let me know and i’ll delete the offending file.
i occasionally post mp3s of music that i have personally purchased (i pride myself on never having used p2p services to acquire music). those links will remain live for a week or so depending on how busy i am, will never include more than a couple of tracks from any given album, and i include links to the album’s listing on amazon so that readers can buy the work.

i love comments. your first one may be held for moderation until wordpress recognizes you, but future comments should go right through. comments posted during the day that fall into the black hole of moderation probably won’t be approved until i get home from work in the evening.
